Lifeguards

The Lifeguard is a vital component to The Beach Ottumwa. A Lifeguard Skills Test must be completed by all applicants. Lifeguards will be required to demonstrate their skills and will be scored accordingly.

Lifeguards will be scheduled in "Rotations". Scheduled rotations will range from 10 - 30 hours per week.

Lifeguards are a certified position. Classes are offered at The Beach Ottumwa.

LG must be certified in CPR-PR and Waterpark certified which is included in all Red Cross LG training.

Lifeguard Skills Test

  • Must have proof of current certification
  • 500 Swim - timed, Brick Tow - timed, Active Victim Rescue, Passive Victim Rescue, Passive Victim Submerged.
  • All guards will be scored individually on their performance of these skills. Only the highest scoring guards will be offered Lifeguard positions at The Beach for Summer 2008.

Admissions

The Admissions Staff at The Beach Ottumwa is primarily responsible for positive and courteous interactions with guests. Admissions staff are also required to perform cash transactions in a fast and accurate manner, counting change back to guests with each transaction. Some janitorial duties are also required. Scheduled hours will range from 10 - 30 hours per week. What's next? Fill out an application and set up an interview! Concessions

The Concessions Staff at The Beach Ottumwa is primarily responsible for positive and courteous interactions with guests. Concessions staff are also required to prepare and serve food to guests, perform cash transactions in a fast and accurate manner, counting change back to guests with each transaction, as well as some janitorial duties.
