Ottumwanoc Tribal Trail Connection (John Deere Loop Segment 4)

This project is for the construction a of trail along the south levee of the Des Moines River, connecting to the existing trail at the Wabash railroad bridge, then turning south, following the old Wabash rail line to Madison Avenue.  The trail will then parallel Madison Avenue through a residential area towards Mary Street. The City applied and received a REAP Grant through the Department of Natural Resources.  They are providing 100 percent of development costs up to a maximum amount of $150,000.  No match money is required from the City.  

Bids were received and opened by the City of Ottumwa on July 15, 2009.  The contractor for this project is Pilcher Construction of Ottumwa, Iowa.
