The City of Ottumwa is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Zoning Technician.

This is a part-time position, 25 to 30 hours per week, but does include certain benefits such as paid vacation and holidays.

Person is responsible for interpreting and enforcing zoning codes, investigating complaints, assembling and categorizing information, and will assist with grant writing and implementation of local and state grants. One year of business experience required preferably in zoning, inspections or public relations. Individual must have the ability to work cohesively with the public, department heads, and other city employees.

The City of Ottumwa is looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Planner.

This is a full-time position with benefits, including health insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation and retirement plan.

The successful candidate must possess extensive working knowledge of computers and data processing including Microsoft Word. GIS and CAD experience desired. The individual must have completed major course work in city planning, public administration, geography or related field. Must have the ability to conduct surveys and compile data relative to planning. Duties to include, but are not limited to site plan reviews, coordinate the review of development projects with other City departments, review and present sub-divisions, rezoning requests and variances to the Plan and Zoning Commission and Zoning Board. Individual must have the ability to work cohesively with the public, department heads and other City employees.
