Register to Vote

The Mayor and City Council members are elected officials.    The City Council positions are four-year terms. The Mayor's term of office is two years.       City elections are held in November of odd numbered years, and the terms determined by the elections begin in January of the following new year.  

You may register to vote if:

  • You are a citizen of the United States.
  • You are a resident of Iowa.
  • You will be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.
    NOTE: If you are 17½ years old, you may register to vote, but your registration will not be effective until your 18th birthday.
