Planning and Zoning Commission
The Ottumwa Plan & Zoning Commission consists of nine members appointed by the mayor with the consent of the city council who serve five-year terms. Their duties include making recommendation to the city council on 1) surveys, studies, maps, plans or charts that bears relation to a comprehensive plan, 2) review of any design and proposed location of any statuary, memorial, or work of art in a public place; public bridges, viaducts, street fixtures, public structures or appurtenances to be erected, 3) review of all plans, plats or replats of subdivisions or resubdivisions of land, 4) review of plans for any street, park, parkway boulevard, trafficway, riverfront, or other public improvement affecting the city, 5) establishment of district boundaries within the city, 6) rules and regulations relating to the restrictions to be enforced.

The Ottumwa Plan & Zoning Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. in the Ottumwa City Council Chamber of City Hall the first Monday of each month.
