CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS - 2011 to 2012

The City of Ottumwa's Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is designed to allow the City Council to complete various improvements to our community's infrastructure or to purchase equipment that are "above and beyond" the usual City departmental budgets.   We fund this in a process similar to a "home improvement loan."   The City bonds for a set amount (usually between 3 to 4 million dollars)  and pays that back over a two year period.   

The proposed projects for the 2011-12 CIP are estimated to cost a total of $9,130,767.    The City will bond for $3,6 million with the remaining $5,994,492 will come from other sources such as grants.
