Public Information Office

The Public Information Office's function it to better inform the citizens about the functions and activities of thier local goverment.

The Public Information Coordinator is the "press agent" for the City and regularly issues News Releases about City programs and activities to all of the local media outlets. Click here to see our latest news releases.

Ottumwa's Government Access Channel is cable channel 6, GO-TV. We broadcast a revolving bulletin board about City departments and activities as well as information of general interest to all citizens. In addition, GOTV broadcasts City Council Meetings so citizens can watch their "government-in-action."

(Please note: GOTV is not a Public Access Channel. Unlike public channels, government channels are granted and maintain editorial rights to choose the content, format, and subject of information to be broadcast.)

In addition, the Public Information Coordinator functions as the Emergency Operations Communications Officer if a disaster is declared.
