Make Ottumwa Shine 2010 

The first MOS meeting of the year proved that a few of us are thinking spring despite what it looks like outside.  A few volunteers met January 13th and talked about spring clean up week and other community improvement ideas.  Information about Main Street Ottumwa plans to clean up the downtown area 4 times a year was shared.  Volunteers interested in lending Main Street a hand should contact Director Cindy Woodbury at 641-684-5130.  2010 Make Ottumwa Shine Clean Up Week is set for April 25th - May 1st.  We won't know if there's a free or reduced price landfill day scheduled until after the next Solid Waste Commission meeting.  MOS Volunteers hope to continue the Paint Ottumwa Beautiful Program this year and paint at least five more houses.  The availibilty of funds and volunteers will determine how many houses can be painted.   More information will be available at a later date.  The next 2010 Make Ottumwa Shine meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m in Room 108 at City Hall.
