Make Ottumwa Shine
VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the 2013 Make Ottumwa Shine Clean Up Week a success. Over 60 volunteers adopted 25 areas around the city and made them shine. Once again Thanks to MidAmerican Energy for donating bags and gloves and to our local media for their coverage of MOS 13.
2013 Make Ottumwa Shine week was April 28th - May 4th. Many thanks to all those who helped spruce up their neighborhoods. Purple bags are available at the Recycling Center and City Hall year round if you feel need to clean.
Make Ottumwa Shine is a volunteer driven community clean up program held at least once a year. Volunteers pick up purple trash bags and gloves at advertised locations. They select a clean up site from the published list and collect litter in that area. When the purple bags are filled, call 641-683-0685 or 694 and the bags will be collected. Volunteers may choose to perform their clean up event during MOS week or some other time that is more convenient.
